Trish: "Darth Vader and the Lost Command" Review & #4 Release

For Easter, the Easter Bunny brought my son
"Darth Vader and the Lost Command" #1 & #2 by Haden Blackman.
He put together a (12 year old) review:
...This series takes place just after "The Revenge of the Sith", and Vader is wondering if joining the dark side was a good idea.  He keeps having visions of what could've been.  While this is going on, he's on a mission to find a certain Moff Tarkin's son.  They find a new enemy, and soon get into trouble.

...This is a very good comic series.  I love the approach these writers took.  It's a little graphic and there's some blood.  I suggest an audience of ages 11 and up.  The story line is very well done, and shows the evolution of the Imperial Infantry.
By, Gavin Wilson

He is saving up his money to buy #3 on Free Comic Book Day - Next Saturday, May 7th.
And he may need to make some extra money to buy #4:

You can get your hands on #4 this week.  Check out TheForce.Net for more info and what else Dark Horse has on sale this week.

Trish: What is it about a lightsaber?

I took my son to Toys R Us today to spend his birthday money.
We went through each aisle and he saw many different things that he wanted.
Then ,we hit the Star Wars section, and everything else went back to their shelves.
Now, being a mom, I had to ask, "Don't we already have this one?"
(With 4 kids, we have 15+ lightsabers already!)
But, the reply was "Nope!"
I asked (a couple of times), "Are you sure this is what you truly want?"
The reply being "Yep!"
So, we left the store and headed home to open it up and check it out.
In the box, we were so excited to find a DVD of Lightsaber Battles AND a code for the online game- Star Wars the Clone Wars Adventures.
OK-now it was mommy's turn to get excited.
So what if we already have so many of these things!  They DO get played with more than any other toy in the house.  My oldest son is dueling with my youngest, as I type this.
So, you tell me....WHAT IS IT ABOUT LIGHTSABERS...that makes them so much cooler than anything else?!

Easter is little more than a week away!!  And I found some fun sites to put some Star Wars into your Holiday!

Over at Rebelscum.com, they posted that these eggs can be found at Walmart for $5.00.

Trish: 'DK' East Coast Tour

Hello East Coasters!  Have you heard about this <------?

Check out the post from StarWars.com:
"Beginning in early May, a group of DK's talented Star Wars authors and illustrators will hit the road, visiting bookstores, schools, and libraries for the DK Star Wars 'Attack of the Authors' East Coast Tour. Events will run from May 7th through May 15th, from Massachusetts, all the way down to Florida.
Tour guests include Ryder Windham, Chris Reiff, Chris Trevas, Jason Fry, and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein (the voice of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars). Co-sponsored by Mimobot and Her Universe, the 'Attack of the Author' events will also feature guest appearances by the costumed characters of the 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion, members of the R2 Builders Club, as well as raffles, giveaways, and Star Wars activities.
A full-sized R2 droid replica will be coming along for the ride, collecting signatures of attending 501st Legion and R2 Builders Club members at each event, which will be raffled off to benefit a national charity organization after the tour. A full list of dates and author appearances can be be found HERE."

This sounds really awesome.  If anyone attends...let us know!  And if it comes on over to the West Coast or Middle America, I'll do my best to keep you posted!

I will also be covering Star Wars Weekends that day as well as the following Friday/Saturday. I can't wait! I promise to bring you as much cool coverage as I did at Celebration. Hopefully I'll have a few surprises for you as well.
